OPELOUSAS, LA – Warren C. Michot, 71 of Opelousas was arrested on 4 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and 34 counts of cruelty to animals. 

On Friday, March 15, Animal Control Investigator, Spencer Cornette was contacted by the director of St. Landry Parish Animal Shelter, Lynn Bourque about animals being locked in a building at 2640 West Landry Street in Opelousas. 

Upon arrival, investigators discovered several animals locked inside of an old vet clinic. At that time, investigators applied for a search warrant. Once approved, investigators went inside where they located 38 animals. 34 dogs and 4 goats were seized at that time. All of the animals were brought to the St. Landry Parish Animal Shelter to be housed until further notice.
