January 4, 2024 | St. Landry Parish Government regrets to inform the public that the
Adjudicated Property Sale, originally scheduled for Thursday, January 4, 2024, has been
postponed. This decision comes in response to the official journal failing to advertise the
property listings in accordance with legal requirements.

The law mandates that the Parish Government must advertise the public sale twice in
the official journal—once at least thirty days prior to the sale date and once no more
than seven days prior. Unfortunately, the required advertisements were not placed,
necessitating the rescheduling of the sale.

The new date for the Adjudicated Property Sale is set for Monday, February 19, 2024, at
6 pm. It will take place at the Opelousas Old City Market, located at 131 W Bellevue
Street, Opelousas, LA 70570.

In the meantime, St. Landry Parish Government announced a temporary bidding
window for prospective buyers. Interested parties can submit their bids on the
properties that are up for sale until 2 pm on February 19, 2024. All bids received during
this period will be considered as part of the auction proceedings.

To participate in the bidding process or for further details, interested parties can visit
the official St. Landry Parish Government website at stlandrypg.org, or contact Cynthia
Fontenot at (337) 948-3688.

St. Landry Parish Government is committed to transparency and adherence to all legal
requirements. The decision to postpone the sale was made to ensure that all interested
parties have ample notice and an opportunity to participate in the auction.
