BISSELL Pet Foundation Hosts Free Pet Vaccine Clinic on April 22, 2023

BISSELL Pet Foundation is hosting a free pet vaccine clinic in Opelousas on April 22, 2023. Community members are invited to bring their cats and dogs (ages eight weeks or older) to the Yambilee Building to receive free age-appropriate vaccinations and microchips on a first come, first served basis. This clinic is part of BISSELL Pet Foundation’s continued efforts to support the pets and people of St. Landry Parish.

WHAT:                   BISSELL Pet Foundation’s clinic will offer free vaccinations and microchips to cats and dogs ages 8 weeks or older. Community members should bring cats in carriers and dogs on leashes in your vehicle and must not forget current vaccination records. All services will be provided at the veterinarians’ discretion. No appointment is necessary to receive services at this clinic. First come, first served. For more information, community members can contact [email protected] with questions.

WHO:                    BISSELL Pet Foundation, a national animal welfare organization with a mission to end
                               pet homelessness, is coordinating and funding this free pet vaccine clinic.  

DETAILS:                Key information for this clinic:

  • All cats must be in carriers. All dogs must be on leashes and contained in your vehicle.
  • Please bring your pet’s current vaccination records.
  • Services will be provided at the veterinarian’s discretion.
  • Pets must be 8 weeks or older to be eligible for age-appropriate vaccinations.
  • Do NOT bring your pet if he/she has a history of vaccine reactions.
  • Pets will receive a free microchip and registration.
  • Vaccines provided at this clinic:
    • DHLPP for dogs
    • Bordetella for dogs
    • Rabies for cats/dog
    • FVRCP for cats
